Sales Development Representative – Mid Atlantic

Responsibilities include, but not limited to finding and developing net new customer opportunities in assigned territory; working with and understanding Comport/ComportSecure resources, offerings, and processes; develop and expand relationships with OEM’s, with focus on their call center sales teams, in particular but not limited to Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), Aruba, Nutanix, CommVault, Cohesity, Zerto, & Qumulo; maintain and expand sales certifications as dictated by your manager;  provide sales activity reports and sales forecasting as required; and maintain detailed and accurate records in CRM.

The expectation is that you will make dozens of calls and emails per day to generate customer interest and pipeline, working with our OEM partners, qualifying prospects and helping to close new sales. You are responsible for qualifying leads from field teams, Comport Marketing, and OEM partners, and independently generating new sales opportunities.   You will be responsible and accountable for not only generating opportunities, but also successfully closing business with support from sales and technical resources.

The role of the Sales Development Representative will prepare the individual for a role on our field sales team.  Whereas there is no set timeline or requirement for advancement to the field team, it is anticipated that the candidate may desire a career path in sales.  Consideration for advancement will be predicated on meeting or exceeding SDR objectives and goals over a period of no less than two years.

Position Summary

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience and proven track-record in a call-center outbound sales/business development role
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with CRM platforms, and diligent in its use and accuracy
  • Experience in selling technology solutions and services, such as, As-a-Service (BaaS, DRaaS, IaaS), Managed Services, or Professional Services
  • Ability to leverage Social Media as a method to prospect and solicit new business
  • Experience w/ account research utilizing tools such as Discover.org and Tech Target

Compensation:

Base Salary + Commission.  $73K OTE.
